imagegmf presents WORKS 03 RESIDUE.
in the tradition of the wake, gmf offers a trilogy of individual projects which celebrate the final phase of it’s
response to the unique context of the international art arena as proposed by the Liverpool biennial 2008.
exhibition runs from 06.11.08 until 22.11.08

• requiem for stanhope:  residual space, redundant stock:
five houses in Liverpool 8 in stasis, caught in the cycle of redevelopment / regeneration. two of the houses,
Nos. 43-45, had violated the uniformity of the plan, becoming a single dwelling yet retaining the essential form of their
former separate conditions. prior to redevelopment, gmf inhabited the spaces, revealing the traces left after the detritus of several
lifetimes was removed. HOUSE allowed the viewer one night on which to experience these remarkable spaces in a requiem entitled
‘the viewing’. site-specific installations and audio-visual works combined to create a promenade within the [altered] domestic space.
HOUSE was a collaboration between gmf, peter mccaughey audioindecline, ben deveraux & roy roberts,
with thanks to our patrons rohan & trine hughes.

• 44 things installation and sound-scape by peter mcCaughey
a residual installation comprising of the elements which shaped and defined Peter McCaughey’s previous 6 hour long performance.
the work transposed, documents all 44 events and its sequence shaped by audience participation. together with a sound scape live recording which attempts to retell the story and match objects together with their original reference as found within the narrative based text.
with special thanks to Monika Koeck, for her mastery in the production of the DVD/soundscape.

• a live edit by brandon fix
as a celebration of brandon fix’s recent residency within the GMF space, he  invites you, the viewer, to intervene directly as a form of live edit on recent text based works. the texts have been generated for his novel, the manifesto of the imagnary state, creative manual for everyday life. an open invitation to navigate within the complex world of truth and fiction within the arena of consumerism. to actively participate bring along a red pen.
