A personal highlight for me would be the aptly named Museum of Liverpool. It was opened to the public in 2011 and contains over 6000 objects telling the city’s urban and social history. Unfortunately this has just closed for the winter, and re-opens next Easter until the end of August, but it’s a must for your next visit to Liverpool. Travel round the 550 acre park from the comfort of your own car and meet some of the 700 inhabitants. For some people, the lion enclosure may be the highlight, and for others it’s the baboons, or perhaps it’s the cute meerkats that’ll be your favourite. Whichever animal you favour, it’s a great day out for all the family.
